Description:
(20 Hours) =14 hours of Lecture; 2 hours of testing; 4 hours of Clinical hands-on skills. A Certified Medication Technician (CMT) in the state of Maryland is defined as an individual who completes a Board- Approved 20-hour Medication Technician Training Program. The settings that the Medication Technician could function in includes, but were not limited to, an assisted living, a Developmental Disabilities alternative living unit, the Department of Juvenile Service’s residential placement programs, Group home (adult and children), and a school health setting.
The applicant must:
- Be 18 years of age to apply for certification as a medication technician.
- Interested/Employed by a Health Practice Setting location (i.e. assisted living, nursing home, adult day program, home care agency, School health, group home).
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Located and able to work/practice in the State of Maryland
Completion Requirements:
- To receive your certificate of course completion, you must pass the prerequisite basic math and comprehensive reading tests with a 80% or greater score;
- Complete all lessons with a score of 80% or greater; and pass the final comprehensive exam with a 80% or greater
- Score 100% on the skills in-person skills demonstration.
- Finals are graded as Pass or No Pass.
- Receipt of your certificate indicates successful completion of the course and that you have passed all final exams with a score of 80% or greater on the comprehensive exam and 100% on the skills demonstration.
- You may retake final exam up to three (3) times within the duration of the course at no additional charge. No Refunds!
