Renewal of the Medication Technician Certificate

Description:
The Certified Medication Technician CMT must meet an active practice requirement to renew his or her certificate in the state of Maryland. The individual MUST have 100 hours of active practice hours (as a CMT) within the 2 years immediately preceding the renewal of his or her certificate. In addition, there is a thirty (30) day grace period beyond the date of expiration of the certificate to renew. Therefore, the individual has an additional 30 days following expiration of the certificate to obtain the Clinical Update.
The applicant must:
- Employed by a Health Practice Setting location (i.e. assisted living, nursing home, adult day program, home care agency, School health, group home).
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Located and able to work/practice in the State of Maryland
- Successfully completion of CMT online renewal application (or grant LCN Services authority to assist with completion of the form).
Completion Requirements:
- Successfully complete an Implicit bias Training program approved by the Cultural and Linguistic Health Care Professional Competency Program under §20-1306 of the Health–General Article.
- Completion of Clinical Update NO MORE THEN 90 Days prior to the expiration of your CURRENT CMT certificate.
- Verify the entry of the Clinical Update information online by the Delegating RN.
